What to Expect From the Newest Entry in the Explorer Lineup
What is the Ford Explorer? It is a three-row-seater SUV with the seating capacity to hold up to seven people. It remains with the same powerful engines from years prior: a 2.3L EcoBoost Turbocharged I-4 and a 3.0L EcoBoost Turbocharged V6. This gets an impressive range of 300-400hp and 310-415 lb-ft of torque, depending on your engine of choice. With good fuel economy and a strong towing capacity, this versatile SUV can go anywhere and take just about anything on the journey. This year, instead of having to choose between many different options for trims, this lineup is easier to decide from and more simplified than in previous years (but we will talk about that more in a minute). This year, you’ll get more confidence on the road. With Ford Co-Pilot360, you’ll feel more in command of your vehicle and in control of the road ahead. These features include safety features like Ford BlueCruise (that works in both the U.S. and Canada), a Lane-Keeping System, Evasive Steering Assist, Hill Descent Control, and a Rear View Camera. Looking for additional safety? Check out the Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert that helps you see even in a blind spot by alerting you of passing cars. Of course, there are more features that the Explorer sports, like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Auto High Beam Headlamps, and Adaptive Cruise Control. We know what happens when you’re hauling a heavy load? Well, with BLIS with Trailer Coverage you’ll still be able to detect and be alerted during lane changes or potential accidents. However, before you worry about getting on the road, you have to hook up to the trailer first, and the 2025 Explorer will take the stress out of that chore with the useful Pro Trailer Backup Assist, that helps guide you to connect with ease. With advanced features like hands-free driving assist features and detections that can prevent accidents, what’s not to love? The 2025 model is ready to serve you on and off the road.
Fresh Designs
The 2025 model year has been designed for comfort and convenience. With updated seating and a new color palette, this Ford SUV keeps impressing new and old fans alike. Use the ambient lighting to fit your mood or to aesthetically please all on board. With all-new colors and seating accents, you’ll be able to keep a fresh feeling of luxury throughout your rides. You’ll find a spacious interior, especially if you need to travel with a lot of cargo. The Explorer has foldable seats for a maximum of 87.8 cu.ft. of space. Get a whole new interior design that doesn’t sacrifice space with this new Ford model. This bold, rugged beast is ready to draw eyes with aerodynamic curves and lines molded onto this exterior machine. It sports a bigger grille as it takes on a new face with new lights and black accents, and badges. This sporty, adventurous new look is ready to take on the outdoors with protective skid plates and new front bumpers. It is a bit lighter than it was before, but it can still pack a punch and have all the power previous models possessed.
Trim Options
In the past, when you’ve checked out the Ford Explorer you may have noticed quite a wide selection of trim options. Now the 2025 year has made it easier to choose by cutting the options in half. Instead of eight options, there are now four. The standard trim option, Active, has an MSRP of $39,625 and features the Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist+, heated front seats, and a powerful engine to give you strength, confidence, and comfort.[a] You can even add on the available Active Comfort Package for luxury-like alterations in your interior. Get the most out of the Explorer while keeping it affordable with the Active trim level. Next up, the ST-Line trim begins with an MSRP of $44,385 and sports the Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0 with more safety features to secure you and your passengers while providing command and the confidence you’re looking for in an SUV.[a] You’ll receive Ford BlueCruise, which allows you the privilege of hands-free driving that works in both the U.S. and Canada. There are two available packages: the Street Package, which offers improved handling, and the Premium Package, to handle your routine maintenance needs. The ST trim level brings out the fun with the 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine with 400 hp. This starts with an MSRP of $55,205.[a] It has sport-tuned suspension for a lower center of gravity to truly feel what it means to be on the road. This also features a similar driving assistant called the Ford BlueCruise to take you where you want to go with ease. However, you do get some exterior custom changes with an available black roof and twin-panel moonroof to bring a bit of the outdoors in, adding the feeling of more space. The highest trim option, starting with an MSRP of $51,525, the Platinum will sport similar features like the twin-panel moonroof, Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0, and the hands-free driving equipment: Ford BlueCruise.[a] However, it differs by offering a quality sound system from the B&O system by Bang and Olufsen, which includes a subwoofer. It also includes heated and ventilated front seats and comfortable, luxurious platinum-branded seating with leather surfaces for the ultimate comfort. If you’re looking for high-end, then the Platinum option is the way to go.
